Job Title: Engineering Manager

Location(s): Santa Monica, CA


  • Works with outside contractors on performance of calibration and/or validation of equipment and instruments.
  • Conducts thorough review of calibration results and creates reports ensuring compliance with company SOP's and industry standards.
  • Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct failure analysis in order to identify the proper root cause and determine the appropriate corrective action.
  • Maintain a master equipment list and ensure that all equipment is properly operated and maintained, calibrated, qualified and/or validated using metrology management software.
  • Represent the department during client audits, ISO audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Authors SOP's, CQV Protocols, and Reports
  • Authors, reviews, and approves Non-Conforming Events and Out of Tolerance reports.
  • Maintains master on-call services in support of facility operations.
  • Collaborate with other staff members on process optimization opportunities.
  • Communicates Metrology area needs to Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Manufacturing personnel.
  • Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
  • Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating updated organizational information, job expectations & supporting their work
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises direct reports including performance competencies, goals & job results.
  • Coaches, counsels, and conducts disciplinary actions.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.


Experience, Skills, Education:


  • HS Diploma
  • A minimum of 7 years of calibration and metrology experience from a GMP environment in a FDA regulated industry.
  • Exceptional skills in calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation is key.
  • Understand document control
  • Create SOPs and write protocols.
