Overview: The Advisor, Sales, leads Inovalon's go-to-market strategy and product advisory efforts for their assigned portfolio. This role is responsible for leading strategic initiatives that support the organization's product strategy, market positioning, and cross-functional execution. The Advisor, Sales, functions as a senior subject matter expert, driving alignment between evolving market needs, regulatory trends, and internal capabilities to ensure offerings remain relevant, competitive, and effective.

This position relies on extensive experience in healthcare and the ability to translate complex industry challenges into actionable strategies. The Advisor, Sales, works closely with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and external stakeholders to define winning strategies in the market and ensure Inovalon's solutions remain at the forefront of industry needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Go-To-Market Leadership (External-Facing, ~50%):

    • Develop and drive comprehensive go-to-market strategies for assigned Company portfolio across new and existing clients.
    • Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams to craft tailored strategies for high-priority accounts, leveraging insights on client needs, competitive positioning, and regulatory landscape.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in one's own functional area, providing direct support in strategic sales pursuits, executive-level meetings, and client-facing presentations.
    • Identify and share emerging market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive intelligence to inform proactive account strategies.
    • Act as an executive-level advisor to client stakeholders, supporting value realization of Inovalon's appointed portfolio.


  • Product Advisory Leadership (Internal-Facing, ~50%):

    • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Product Management team, providing market and customer feedback to inform the roadmap for one's solutions.
    • Evaluate current and planned product capabilities, ensuring alignment with evolving customer needs and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance product-market fit and drive innovation based on firsthand market insights.
    • Collaborate with Marketing to shape messaging and thought leadership content that elevates Inovalon's position as an industry leader in risk solutions.


  • Demonstrate and maintain an expert level of knowledge of the Company's products, services, capabilities, infrastructure, and operations, together with deep insights into the marketplace, competition, strategic positioning, threats, and opportunities.
  • Participate with Company leadership in the strategic development of initiatives to identify enhancements to improve products, services, operations, client appeal, process flow, risk exposure, and overall business function, industry reputation, and financial performance.
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures, and mission statement.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position.
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company.


Job Requirements:



  • 12+ years of healthcare experience in the relevant market, including revenue integrity, and related domains.
  • Proven track record in executive advisory, go-to-market strategy, and product collaboration roles.
  • Strong understanding of health plan operations and healthcare regulatory frameworks, including government-sponsored programs (e.g., Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, ACA).
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and driving customer value.
  • Strong experience managing the full scope of operations functions within a high transaction, high availability and complex environment.
  • Proven track record of success in facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization.


Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time).
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force.
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions.
  • This position will require travel to support client needs and business development opportunities up to 50%.

Inovalon Offers a Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$180,500 $225,000 USD
