Job Summary

The Center for Autonomous Systems and Technologies (CAST) is seeking a capable and organized manager and research engineering associate to facilitate the efficiency, safety, and productivity of the lab. The CAST Lab Manager and Research Engineering Associate will manage the everyday operations of the lab and maintain the safety records for the users and the facility. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist with fabrications being built in CAST and will participate in weekly progress meetings for CAST projects.

Essential Job Duties
  • Assist in the design of drones and robots.
  • Write computer programs for the interface of hardware and software.
  • Print on 3D printers and other rapid manufacturing machinery.
  • Support lab equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain CAST calendars and room reservation systems.
  • Act as the CAST Safety Officer, which includes training researchers, maintaining documentation, and requesting lab access as appropriate per policy.
  • Operate the fan wall in the arena as needed for research or tours.
Basic Qualifications
  • BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience with SolidWorks.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of basic electronics.
  • Experience using high-voltage lithium batteries.

Hiring Range

$33.50 to $38.50 per hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
