DEPCOM Power is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commissioning Technical Business Manager. The Commissioning Technical Business Manager is pivotal in driving the success of commissioning operations for utility-scale renewable energy projects. This role is focused on optimizing workflow efficiency, upholding internal standards, and ensuring seamless execution and monitoring of project-specific commissioning activities. A strong emphasis is placed on leadership, coordination, and data management skills to achieve peak performance in both self-perform and subcontractor teams.

What You Will Do

  • Design and implement cutting-edge commissioning processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, aiming to streamline commissioning workflows and drive innovation.
  • Provide robust support in estimating and time tracking for the self-perform commissioning team to optimize resource allocation.
  • Ensure adherence to project fundamentals, labor planning reports, and key performance indicators, driving project success.
  • Collaborate intensively with Commissioning Managers to develop crew planners aligned with budgetary constraints and target objectives.
  • Assist Commissioning Managers by understanding contracts and project drawings, ensuring all deliverables are met with precision.
  • Play a key role in the preparation and dissemination of site-specific documents, test plans, and start-up procedures.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all commissioning equipment and instrumentation, ensuring readiness and accuracy. Manage data accuracy diligently for reliable reporting and enhance dashboard functionality for clear insights and decision-making.
  • Oversee and optimize data management tools for Commissioning teams, enhancing overall efficiency.
  • Facilitate efficient management of materials and tools from project inception, ensuring timely availability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Actively engage in progress meetings to provide updates and coordinate stakeholder actions, fostering collaboration and alignment.
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings with subcontractors and OEMs to ensure seamless integration and execution.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Commissioning, Construction, Industrial or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex initiatives with expertise and precision.
  • Proficient in analyzing and interpreting contracts, electrical drawings, and technical specifications to ensure project success.
  • Familiarity with data dashboards and reporting tools.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Utility-scale solar or renewable energy sectors experience.
  • Familiarity with data dashboards, reporting tools, and industry standards such as NETA, NEC, and ISO 9001, ensuring compliance and excellence.


For this role, we anticipate paying $80k - $100k per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
