What you will do
Johnson Controls is seeking a Staff Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic Control Applications team based in Glendale, WI! Come work for a team that applies technology and the principles of control theory, thermodynamics and heat transfer to develop models, algorithms, control sequences and system solutions for Building Automation systems (BAS) and commercial HVAC equipment control. You will be responsible for the implementation and test of control applications for commercial HVAC systems (air side and water side) and standalone equipment.This opportunity is onsite and based in our new Innovation Center, the Warren Johnson Engineering Lab located in Glendale, WI. Candidates must be commuting distance to the office, or able/willing to relocate.

Are you an analytical thinker, or someone that can apply robust design methodologies and engineering principles (modeling, simulation, data acquisition etc.) to develop solutions? Then keep reading! You will have the opportunity to interface directly with electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, software developers, systems engineers and research engineers to develop system-wide solutions. An ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about HVAC equipment, its operating characteristics, and building automation.

What you will need
Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Controls Engineering, Software Engineering and/or Computer Science.

  • 7+ years of experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to take a project from requirements to final deployment.

  • Strong background in one or more of the following: control system design, feedback control theory, system modeling, thermodynamics/heat transfer, optimization, and numerical methods.

  • Ability to apply analytical methods to realize solutions.

Preferred

  • Professional experience with MATLAB and Simulink products.

  • Familiar with commercial or industrial building control systems.

  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC/Building Automation Systems and/or equipment.

  • Ability to program in C, C++, or C# using Visual Studio.

  • Master's degree
