We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Product Owner to lead the development and enhancement of technology products that meet the evolving needs of FOX's business verticals including News, Business, Sports, and Entertainment. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting the Fox Media Services department by contributing functionally and technically across all phases of the software development life cycle and the ongoing design, implementation, support, and maintenance of media management processes, platforms, and systems. The Product Owner will lead multiple initiatives such as workflow discovery, gap analysis, complex requirements elicitation, and system interface specification, while serving as a key functional liaison to the user community.

This individual will continuously build expertise in content acquisition, content management, transformation, distribution, editorial and publication, gaining insight into how technology supports business workflows. They will be responsible for transferring knowledge between users, designers, developers, architects, and technical team members. Success in this role requires strong project management skills, experience working with cross-functional teams, and a deep understanding of technology and media workflows.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in leveraging AI tools and technologies, including OpenAI platforms such as ChatGPT, to optimize workflows, improve user experiences, and drive operational efficiency. A key focus of this position is integrating AI capabilities into media management solutions and day-to-day practices to enable smarter decision-making and automation.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and gather requirements.

  • Define and maintain the product backlog, ensuring stories and tasks are clearly documented and prioritized.

  • Translate business needs into user stories and technical requirements.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for development teams, providing clarity on product vision and requirements.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, UX/UI designers, and DevOps.

  • Make data-driven decisions regarding product features and enhancements.

  • Participate in user acceptance testing and release management processes.

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

  • Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in an Agile environment.

  • Strong hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies such as Agile Scrum and Kanban.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including creation of project documentation, presentation materials, and presenting to both business and technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to translate business problems into actionable technical requirements and user stories.

  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements, process flows, system interface specifications, user stories, and business rules that support intuitive and efficient end-to-end workflows.

  • Demonstrated experience making functional decisions related to both core and new product features.

  • Ability to gain a deep understanding of customer workflows and how systems are used to support those workflows.

  • Takes ownership of functional issues by identifying root causes, analyzing potential solutions, and implementing resolutions or effective workarounds.

  • Experienced in supporting multiple business divisions in a functional capacity across all phases of the project lifecycle.

  • Proficient in communicating plans, status updates, and issues to both business stakeholders and technical leadership.

  • Self-driven with the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and a constantly evolving environment.

  • Strong ability to self-prioritize across concurrent projects and support initiatives.

  • Proactively identifies and escalates areas for process improvement, cost savings, and operational efficiency.

  • Adheres to departmental standards, policies, procedures, and industry best practices.

  • Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

  • Familiarity with enterprise IT systems, system integrations, and APIs.

  • Hands-on experience with media asset management (MAM) platforms, including use cases and metadata workflows.

  • Hands-on experience with content management systems (CMS) platforms

  • Knowledge of audio and video encoding, metadata standards, and taxonomy.

  • Expertise in engaging and managing relationships with technical stakeholders.

  • Experience participating in user acceptance testing, including the creation of test plans, test cases, and documentation of results.

  • Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Miro, Visio, Lucidchart, Jira, and Confluence.

  • Proficiency in leveraging AI tools and technologies to enhance day-to-day tasks, workflows, or application features, with a focus on improving productivity and operational efficiency.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $128,000.00-137,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
