Introduction

The Loudoun County Department of Housing and Community Development works to facilitate, inform, and advise the community on the development and implementation of strategies to address the unmet housing needs of all Loudoun County residents. The department also develops funding opportunities and provides grants and loans to help preserve, provide access to, and add to the supply of affordable housing. It provides programs to increase affordable housing opportunities for Loudoun's low- to moderate-income households, including homebuyers and renters, as well as nonprofits and affordable housing developers.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, this position develops and maintains community resources to assist in meeting housing needs within the County. This position inspects properties to ensure they meet established housing quality standards; makes recommendations to correct deficiencies; analyzes rents to determine reasonableness; provides reports of suspected fraud to investigators; develops and maintains community resources to support program; and develops working relationships with landlords, tenants, and the public.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred); three (3) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Inspection Certification or National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) Certification within the last five (5) years.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Successful Candidates will undergo background checks as required.

Hold certification for or obtain National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) training within six (6) months of hire.
