Dotdash Meredith is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Specialist - Business to Consumer Events to support our B2C event initiatives. This role requires strong customer service instincts and excellent communication skills and is ideal for someone early in their marketing career who is eager to gain hands-on experience across a variety of marketing channels. As a key liaison between the marketing, sales, and customer teams, the Marketing Specialist will help drive consumer awareness, interest, engagement, and ultimately, sales or conversions. Prior experience in B2C marketing or event-based consumer engagement is a strong plus.

This position is based in New York City and follows a hybrid schedule: three days in the office and two days remote each week.

About The Team | The Team and/or Brand

The Business-to-Consumer (B2C) marketing events team is lean and primarily responsible for creating and executing strategies that promote a company's products or services directly to individual customers. Our main goal is to drive awareness, interest, engagement, and ultimately, sales or conversions from consumers.

About The Position's Contributions | Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

  • 20% - Support the execution of marketing campaigns, with a focus on customer engagement and satisfaction
  • 20% - Serve as a point of contact for inbound customer inquiries related to marketing promotions, emails, or events
  • 15% - List planning for targeted B2C campaigns (list development, list sourcing, and targeted research)
  • 15% - Maintain marketing campaign databases (plan and build marketing campaigns, manage data entry, list management, proofing, data cleansing)
  • 10% - Assist with email marketing, list segmentation, and campaign reporting
  • 10% - Track and report on customer feedback related to marketing efforts to help inform future strategies
  • 10% - Provide administrative and project coordination support to the broader marketing team

The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in marketing, customer service, or related internships. Direct marketing experience a plus

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Comfortable using marketing or CRM tools (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce)
  • A team player with a positive, customer-first attitude
  • Experience supporting direct marketing efforts such as email, print, or digital campaigns
  • Data-driven mindset with an interest in campaign performance metrics
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines

Pay Range

Hourly: New York: $24.00 - $28.85

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
