Job Summary

Join our dynamic and highly skilled Neuro Endovascular Surgery (NES) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team. The NES service specializes in the management and treatment of complex neurovascular conditions, including stroke, aneurysms, and arteriovenous malformations, utilizing cutting-edge endovascular techniques.
We're seeking individuals who bring professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving clinical environment. Our APPs work in close collaboration with NES physicians and fellows, contributing to both inpatient consults and outpatient follow-up care.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $100.48- $130.31 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
  • One (1) year of recent (within 24 months) experience as a Neuro ICU nurse or Critical Care ICU nurse.

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) years or greater NP experience in Neurology within the past five (5) years, including independent ambulatory patient encounters and independent inpatient encounters.

License/Certification


  • California driver's license (CDL) if required for position.
  • Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work.
    • Accepted Certifications for Adult Hybrid Inpatient and Outpatient position: ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC;
  • Current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California.
  • Complete a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address
  • Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments.
  • Current AHA BLS.
  • Curent AHA ACLS.
  • State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice
  • Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1

UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
