Job Description

Led by Visa's first Chief Data Officer, the Global Data Office coordinates high-impact, complex, company-wide projects related to data business strategy, critical investments, policy development, and marketplace execution. Working closely with Visa's Chief Privacy Officer, the Technology organization, the wider data community, and the full set of Visa's global lines of business, the Global Data Office is evolving Visa's data-related work with momentum and enthusiasm. Driven by its commitment to trusted use of data, Visa is seeking enthusiastic leaders who are change-agents and passionate about the future of data around the world.

This position will support the VP of Strategy, Business Planning, and Operations in the Global Data Office. Responsibilities include executing critical GDO initiatives and projects, managing external strategic partnerships, and collaborating with Visa account executive teams on go-to-market execution.

Responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership

  • Identifying opportunities for strategic initiatives and partnerships that support organizational objectives.
  • Shaping the overall strategic direction of partnerships for the organization.
  • Collaborating across teams to ensure alignment and effective communication between internal and external stakeholders.

Partnership Development and Management

  • Identifying, cultivating, and managing strategic partnerships with businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Negotiating partnership agreements while ensuring mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Developing joint marketing strategies to maximize reach and impact.

Project Management and Execution

  • Developing and managing project plans for strategic initiatives, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to execute strategic projects seamlessly.
  • Monitoring project progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.

Performance Monitoring and Analysis

  • Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for strategic initiatives and partnerships.
  • Analyzing data to assess the success and areas for improvement of partnership initiatives.
  • Providing regular reports to leadership on the progress and impact of strategic initiatives and partnerships.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and with external partners.
  • Acting as a representative of the organization and advocating for its mission and strategic priorities.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Staying informed about industry trends and competitor activities to identify new partnership opportunities.
  • Attending industry events and networking to establish connections.
  • Driving innovation in partnership practices to align with and achieve business objectives.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • Proven experience in leading high-impact, complex projects and driving data strategy execution within a global organization.
  • Strong track record of working with cross-functional teams, including technology, privacy, and business units.
  • Experience in the payments industry or financial services.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of data and AI strategy, market trends, and latest data management practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and analytics.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with executive leadership and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and software.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 213,000 to 332,950 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
