Purpose:
As a Buyer at Worley, you will play a crucial role in procuring materials and heavy equipment, such as air handlers on a competitive basis to meet the project and company requirements. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, this role involves identifying, soliciting, and selecting reliable sources of supply for materials, equipment, and services essential for project execution and supporting Worley's clients. You will work on assignments involving both engineered and non-engineered items, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in procurement activities.

Responsibilities:



  • Procurement: Purchase materials and equipment as needed for projects or company operations, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to procurement guideline.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, solicit, and select reliable sources of supply for materials, equipment, and services, maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality.
  • Proficiency: Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in purchasing principles and practices within the discipline, with the ability to handle complex purchasing activities.
  • Autonomy: Work under minimal supervision, plan tasks independently, and manage varied and complex responsibilities. Exercise judgment and experience to address challenges and recommend solutions.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate ideas and concepts, including participating in the preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, and reports.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop a strong understanding of systems, processes, and tools related to field procurement. Assist others in troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Supervision: Work under self-initiated technical guidance, with periodic interaction with a supervisor. Assign activities and provide technical guidance to a few staff members for common projects.

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



  • Some relevant experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Fully proficient level with a deep understanding of procurement principles and practices.
  • Ability to plan work independently and accomplish varied and complex tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to recommend solutions based on experience and judgment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to influence participation in proposal, presentation, and report preparation.
  • Familiarity with systems, processes, and tools related to procurement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and provide technical guidance.


Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:



  • University Degree in a related field or applicable discipline.


Preferred:



  • Equivalent relevant experience.
