Job Description

The E1 is a valuable member of the Resort's Engineering Team dedicated to ensuring our Resort is in working order at all times. The E1 diagnoses problems, performs repairs and completes preventive maintenance tasks throughout the Resort according to Omni standards and with "expert level" proficiency.



Responsibilities

Skills and abilities may be prioritized and changed by management prior to a new job opening based on business needs and the current inventory of skills in the department. Skills and abilities will be assessed through on-the-job observation and by practical skills testing.

Plumbing: E1's will meet all plumbing requirements of E2, E3, & E4 including:

    Must know how to use jetter equipment and a power snake (hand operated and electrical)
  • Measuring layout, dry fit, and solder
  • Changing out fill valves, wax rings, and motion censored plumbing fixtures
  • Use of drain clearing equipment: plungers, hand snakes, & augers
  • Clearing drains and toilets using snakes, plungers, and augers.

Electrical: E1's will meet all electrical requirements of E2, E3, & E4 including:

  • Performing replacement of ballast
  • Repairing and replacing contactors and relays
  • Troubleshooting lighting fixtures
  • Repairing and replacing receptacles, switches and GFCI's
  • Identifying voltages
  • Resetting breakers/GFCI's
  • Being able to identify if an outlet has power
  • Changing out light bulbs

HVAC: E1's will meet all HVAC requirements of E2, E3, & E4 including:

  • Troubleshooting electrical contactors
  • Repairing & replacing heating and cooling actuators as well as reheating 3 way valves
  • Troubleshooting as well as repairing & replacing capacitors and thermostats
  • Changing out filters in AC units
  • Cleaning of coils and valves

Mechanical: E1's will meet all Mechanical requirements of E2, E3, & E4 including:

  • Changing out heating and cooling pumps
  • Changing out fan motors
  • Repairing pool heaters
  • Cleaning and grooming of pools
  • Conduct pool readings

Finish: E1's will meet all Finish requirements of E2, E3, & E4 including:

  • Intermediate knowledge of identifying and applying all types of paints, stains, dry wall finish, wall coverings, flooring, grout etc.
  • Basic knowledge of finish of identifying and applying all types of paints, stains, dry wall finish, wall coverings, flooring, grout etc.
  • Basic knowledge of finish of identifying and applying all types of paints, stains, dry wall finish, wall coverings, flooring, grout etc. preferred but not required

Refrigeration: E1's will meet all Refrigeration requirements of E2, E3, & E4 including:

  • Changing fan motors, reading sight glass and charge units
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting small appliances & refrigeration units
  • Basic troubleshooting of refrigeration units, including verifying of power, water and gas.


Qualifications

NECESSARY LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Required:

EPA Certification is required if working with HVAC.

Preferred:

CPO Certification is highly preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Five years of experience working in the maintenance field in a similar position of responsibility required.
  • Hotel / Resort experience preferred.

Pay Rate: $29.40/hr
