EH&S Engineer

Pay Range: $25-32/hr
Duration: 5 months contract
Responsibilities
- Support and implement health and safety programs including, but not limited to, electrical safety, explosives safety, non-ionizing/ionizing radiation, laser safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), cranes/hoists, fall protection, machine guarding, job hazard analysis, powered industrial vehicles, and others as assigned by management.
- Serve as a technical resource to support engineering reviews of facilities, processes, and products by interpreting and applying OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, IFC, IBC and other applicable regulations and standards.
- Serve as the EH&S engineer for assigned building and engineering programs.
- Develops EH&S policies/procedures and implements them in assigned customer areas.
- Collaborates across departments to achieve and maintain consistency of health and safety program implementation.
- Conduct injury investigations and root cause analysis, develop corrective actions and track to completion.
- Support the site to meet EH&S requirements for internal and external audits including ADOSH VPP, and other internal company assessments.
- Provide support for other site EH&S programs such as industrial hygiene programs.
- Provide instructor led training on various safety topics.
Required Skill Sets:
- Knowledge and ability to apply OSHA regulations and ANSI Standards.
- Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and programs in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate effective prioritization and implementation skills.
- Be flexible to accept additional assignments, campaigns and rotations to other EH&S programs.
Desired Skill Sets:
- Experience applying health and safety requirements in an engineering lab and/or field test environment.
- Knowledge of Enablon EH&S software.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP).
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
Years of Experience Required (if any):
- Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience
Education Level Required:
Bachelor's Degree
How will the contractor's success be measured:
- 80% on time closure of injury investigations and safety concern/near misses within 30 days
- 100% on-time closure of audit/inspection findings
