DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Psychological Services Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a variety of direct psychological services, consultative services, and treatment team services to court-adjudicated youth with increased behavioral and mental health diagnoses. You will also provide consultation to supervisory and counseling staff and serve as a key member of the clinical team. Other duties include preparing written clinical evaluations on each resident in your assigned area and administering the recommended specialized assessment protocol. You will be instrumental in coordinating mental health services and providing direct services to residents by participating in individual and group counseling and therapy, attending court and mental health hearings, and completing psychological assessments and reports. In addition, you will have an opportunity to utilize your exceptional communication skills when providing training to direct care service staff, as well as participating in meetings with probation officers and the multidisciplinary team.

- Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day
Work hours are four shifts of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and one shift of 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Travel and overtime: As needed May change based on operational needs. - Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
You must be willing to accept employment at South Mountain Secure Treatment Unit and commute to this location in Franklin County. - Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $66,250.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A master's degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
