DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position requires a high level of expertise and experience in child welfare and social work. Your responsibilities will involve conducting on-site surveys and evaluations of both public and private children and youth agencies, analyzing data and allegations of child abuse, and ensuring that children in out-of-home placements are protected. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating programs, contracts, and financial reports, as well as providing advice and consultation to ensure that state standards are being met. This role is crucial in promoting the well-being and safety of children and youth in our community. In this role, you will work with various interest groups to improve services to clients and provide education consultation on the children, youth and families programs supported by the department. You will be involved in developing recommendations for policy revisions, implementing departmental policies, and evaluating program goals. You will also be responsible for preparing reports and coordinating efforts with other county agencies for statewide initiatives. Additionally, you may be involved in implementing court ordered class lawsuits that affect public and private agencies, as well as reviewing and making recommendations on submitted plans from county agencies based on the needs of the community. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 4 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating a human service program, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirement:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
