Business Unit Description:

Driven by Enovis' desire to create innovative products that help improve quality of life and restore movement to those suffering from degenerative arthritis, Enovis Surgical provides orthopedic surgeons with modern, patient-focused solutions for total joint arthroplasty. Partnerships with key surgeon consultants help provide advanced and proprietary patented solutions, including EMPOWR 3D Knee, the only dual-pivot knee system on the market, and AltiVate Reverse Shoulder, a market-leading system, based on the design principles of the RSP Shoulder, which has demonstrated excellent clinical outcomes at 10 years.

Enovis Surgical offers surgeons and their patients a full range of primary and revision implants for hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow reconstructive joint surgeries, in addition to the tools and digital health technology needed in today's changing healthcare environment.

Job Title/High-Level Position Summary: As a Furnace Technician 4, 2nd Shift at ENOVIS Surgical you will perform various activities to manufacture orthopedic products. These activities include, but are not limited to, machine operation and precision assembly skills, to produce tight tolerance components in a medical device manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes various hand tools, measuring devices and small machinery for profiling, measuring, calibrating, masking, coating, cleaning, and inspecting product. Works from written work instructions, blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings.

  • Application of abrasive finish to machined and forged components.

  • Application of masking tapes and fixturing to forgings and machined components.

  • Checks and inspects work with precision instruments.

  • Actively participates in continuous improvement efforts.

  • Promptly and accurately completes all required recordkeeping.

  • Keeps surrounding area clean, safe, and organized.

  • Assignments are advanced in difficulty, and require judgment in resolving issues, or in making recommendations with little to no supervision.

  • Coach and train other operators to standards and provide input for improvement methods and techniques.

  • Evaluates nonconforming material and associated defects, create NCMR documentation, and propose rework path.

  • Performs preventative maintenance for and repairs on the furnace; identifies root cause and implements countermeasure controls.

Minimum Basic Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail and strong quality control skills.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training

  • 4+ years of working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience using Lean Methodology, supporting Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives.

Travel Requirements: N/A

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing, or an ISO manufacturing environment.

  • Strong decision-making skills and proven ability to drive root-cause analysis and critical problem solving.
