DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will oversee and assist caseworkers and social service aides by assigning tasks and monitoring their progress within the unit. You will conduct regular case reviews with each caseworker to ensure compliance with all County policies and procedures. Additionally, you will provide 24-hour emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule and prepare testimony for court proceedings. Effective planning and organization of work, along with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports, are essential. You must also learn to interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, and policies that govern the Agency. Annual performance evaluations for caseworkers will be completed in collaboration with the Agency Administrator. Your responsibilities will include reviewing case records from the Intake Department, conducting ongoing assessments of service provision and progress, facilitating regular unit meetings, and managing the caseworker workload.
Your role may involve accompanying clients during transport and home visits, showcasing your adaptability in scheduling. At times, you will be required to fill in for other supervisors or caseworkers, providing essential feedback that aids in shaping agency policies and procedures. You are also expected to engage in the recruitment process for open positions within the unit and act as the SWAN and Court Liaison for the agency. Attendance at meetings with service providers and participation in overnight travel for various training sessions at local, state, and regional levels is mandatory. Upholding confidentiality is crucial, and you may be assigned additional responsibilities as needed.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Overnight travel may be required a few times per year.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, 1 day a week, with supervisor approval. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mifflintown.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
