Position Overview: Responsible for processing background check requests for potential sponsors of unaccompanied children. They receive background check requests (both fingerprint and child abuse and neglect), work with respective federal or state agencies to compile existing information. Coordination of the delivery of that information to the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) or ACF designee. They are responsible for timely email request responses and coordination, as well as evaluating various database searches for potential sponsor information. They are expected to serve in an advisory capacity to the SAI's based on their additional experience. This Ready Reserve position involves a comprehensive hiring process, including interviews with both PSI and the specific Program Manager or Team Lead, along with a background check and drug screen for Protection Strategies, Inc. Successful candidates will be placed on a Ready Reserve List and considered for placement as vacancies arise. There is not an open position at this time. There are two primary areas that SAI's will work in:
Sponsor Checks focus primarily on matching received request paperwork with Special Agency Check (SAC) results received from OPM (Office of Personnel Management), and then opening, processing, and closing cases in an Office of Security and Strategic Information (OSSI) electronic database. There is considerable follow up with OPM, ACF personnel, and ACF designees. Child Abuse and Neglect Checks (CA/N) focus primarily on receiving requests and coordinating with state child protective services to receive CA/N records for potential sponsors.
