Summary:

As an Administrative Assistant for the Capital Engineering business unit, you will be an integral part of the team, assisting engineers and contributing to the success of projects. Capital Engineering is a strategic business group that focuses on providing engineering solutions for various industries. The engineering team works on developing innovative solutions to improve efficiency, productivity, and safety in industrial processes. The group works with customers to understand their unique demands and deliver customized engineering solutions. As an Administrative Assistant for the Capital Engineering department, you will be an integral part of the team, assisting engineers and contributing to the success of projects.

Purpose:

As an Administrative Assistant for the Capital Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to the engineering team. Your organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of the department. Additionally, you will be accountable for supporting the project management team with project documentation and assisting with various administrative tasks.

You will report to the Capital Engineering Manager while working out of the Colonial Heights, VA location on a hybrid, 2/3 work schedule. In this role, you will impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering team by providing administrative support and ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:



  • Assist with preparing reports, presentations, and other documents.
  • Maintain and organize project files and records.
  • Capitalizations, Closing Documents, and Retirements for projects.
  • Writing purchase requisitions, entering goods receipts, and invoice resolution through SAP.
  • Assisting project management team with project closures, capitalizations, and retirements.
  • Provide general administrative support to the engineering team as needed.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



  • 2+ years of experience in an administrative role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficient in project management software (EcoSys, Trello, Jira, SAP, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.


Preferred:



  • Experience in an engineering or technical environment.
  • Experience with project management support.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting construction drawings and associated documents.
  • Excellent communication and people-oriented skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.


Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:



  • High school diploma or GED.


Preferred:



  • Associate's degree or higher in Business Administration or a related field.
