Description

We are seeking a software engineer to contribute on multiple projects and systems in our software stack. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to develop their skills and contribute to impactful projects.

As a Software Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with other engaged, friendly, systems-oriented engineers to understand customer use cases and implement or improve aspects of our platforms that correspond to those use cases.
  • Read and write efficient code and validate implementation of code.
  • Focus on one or more layers of the stack - but likely interact with more.
  • Apply a customer-centric view to the development of new end-to-end features.
  • Code without fear, working with the team to create and maintain continuous builds, tests, efficient code, a constructive code-review process, and a supportive culture of identifying and fixing bugs.


Qualifications:



  • Required -


    • Prior experience of 5+ years as a software engineer.
    • Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and algorithms.
    • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Typescript, or PHP.
    • Good understanding of databases and SQL
    • Familiarity with web development frameworks (e.g., React, NodeJS, Next.js, Angular, Express or similar) or mobile development (e.g., iOS, Android).
    • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), and integrated development environments (IDEs).
    • Experience working deep into projects.


  • Preferred -

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a similar field.
    • Knowledge with cloud platforms like AWS.
    • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.


  • Characteristics of an Ideal Candidate -

    • Self-starter mindset and the ability to work independently.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
    • High degree of attention to detail
    • Works well in fast-paced, team-oriented environment
    • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
    • Visual acuity for reading and using the computer
    • Fluency in the English language
    • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.




Hiring Process:



  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an initial 30 minute screening with the hiring manager.
  • Candidates who move through the initial screening will be brought in for a technical evaluation and interview with managers from our technology team.
  • Candidates who excel at the technical evaluation would then be given a final interview.


Work Environment:



  • This role is a hybrid role in based in our Baltimore, MD office. In office presence is required at least 2-3 days per week.
  • This role is not open to remote only candidates and relocation assistance is not provided.



Salary range for this role will be $115,000-$130,000 commensurate with experience.
