Community Teamwork is seeking a Self Sufficiency Specialist, who will be responsible for providing case management services including advocacy, support, and referral information to Leased Housing clients in the Self-Sufficiency Programs and their families to assist them with becoming self-sufficient. - 37.5 hour work week but paid for 40 hours
Responsibilities include:
- Recruit and enroll Self-Sufficiency program participants
- Assess needs of participants and assist them in selecting appropriate goals and accessing services, such as employment, education & training, improving overall financial stability, increasing credit score, asset development and completing required specialized homeownership classes and workshops
- Refer participants to workshops with experts in the financial literacy and homeownership field
- Maintain regular contact with Self-Sufficiency participants to monitor progress toward goals. Work closely with families to identify and build upon strengths and develop strategies to address barriers
- Provide participants with appropriate support and referrals and assist them with accessing internal and external services needed to accomplish their long-term goals
- Monitor rent certifications by running weekly reports and calculate escrow based on the certifications
- Gather and enter required data points for funders, reporting, and smooth running of program
- Review participant requests for interim disbursements and graduation; make recommendations to the Self-Sufficiency Programs Manager, and process payments
- Review participant failure to comply with Self-Sufficiency requirements, make recommendations to the Self-Sufficiency Programs Manager, and process terminations from the Self-Sufficiency Program
- Gather data on various metrics to aid in measuring outcomes. Compile data for reports, including bi-annual escrow statements, quarterly tracking, and matched savings statements
- Develop and maintain contact with local and regional service organizations to ensure access for participants

- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of relevant work experience required
- Experience with assessment, advocacy and case management of low-income families
- Desire to work with low-income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families and individuals
- Experience with navigating a network of social service programs to connect clients to appropriate resources
- Demonstrated knowledge of community resources available to low-income individuals and families
- Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality of information
- Attention to detail/highly organized
- Excellent customer service, organizational, oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, or comparable software and tracking systems
- Ability to maintain thorough and accurate records on client progress toward goals
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently
- Ability to respond to all correspondence in a timely manner
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred
