Looking for a Resident Project Representative II (Construction) for Nashville

The Resident Project Representative (RPR) II serves as the engineer's agent at the site. Works alongside the client, contractors, sub-contractors, and engineers to provide construction phase services for a variety of civil infrastructure projects. Primary services include inspection, documentation, and material testing oversight.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Studies and understands the requirements of project contract documents in at least one discipline
  • Oversees the necessary inspections and testing required by the contract document
  • Communicates the results of inspections to contractors, suppliers, Construction Administrators and client representatives as required
  • Monitors the contractor's activities for achieving compliance with the requirements of the contract documents whenever possible
  • Reviews contractor pay request quantities, testing service invoices, and other miscellaneous invoices as required
  • Utilizes the accepted procedures and reporting documents to be used by all Resident Project Representatives (RPR) in conjunction with the construction administrators and technical staff
  • Assists Project Managers and/or Construction Administrators with their duties on assigned projects
  • May mentor and train RPR I



An ideal candidate will possess the following requirements:



  • Six years of experience in construction procedures and materials testing
  • A strong understanding of relevant engineering design AND two years of experience with construction procedures
  • A technical background in construction and/or design
  • Thorough knowledge of state and/or local construction and building guidelines
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of utility construction practices (e.g., water sewer lines, pump stations, sub surface structures) relevant to the water/wastewater industry
  • General understanding of design documents for all disciplines
  • Detail-Oriented - ability to achieve accuracy and thoroughness when accomplishing a task; pays attention to details and is able to understand the cause of a certain outcome
  • Judgement and Decision-Making Skills - ability to make reasoned judgments that are logical and well thought out; constructively questioning and analyzing information in order to make the best conclusion
  • Foresight - ability to predict what is likely to happen in the future
  • Ability to interpret construction contracts, special provisions, plans and specs
