POSITION TITLE: Quality Engineer POSITION LOCATION: 1 Lone Star Pass, Building 41, San Antonio, TX 78264 JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide Quality -assurance support to the assigned program and/or area to ensure that the product is built in accordance with customer and division quality requirements while maintaining production flow. Responsible for product and process quality. Ensure expected quality levels are attained in the assigned products through fulfilment of workmanship standards and quality program requirements. Identify and Report quality problems or trends in the assigned area or product based on data from a variety of sources. Recommend or implement the appropriate corrective action to quality problems in the assigned area, with the aid of engineering, purchasing, etc. Review all documentation related to product quality in the assigned area, such as test procedures and operation sheets and approve them as appropriate to ensure product quality. Generate or implement defect-reduction activities. Responsible for assigned control plans. Ensure that all special characteristics are identified on the control plan. Define, develop, and maintain whether the incoming inspection is required on incoming materials. Create and maintain incoming inspection work instructions. Evaluate nonconforming material and initiates supplier containment and corrective actions. Document quality issues and trends and establish prioritized improvement plants. Notify the management of nonconforming product. Responsible for supplier quality on assigned supplier. Responsible for creating/approving quality standards and boundary samples. Ensure that process changes meet customer requirements. Responsible for updating quality documentation and completing required documentation for customer approval. Responsible for identifying/maintaining appearance master samples. Responsible for selecting appropriate process controls, defining requirements for data collection, analysis, and corrective action. Responsible for applicable TS-16949 and BOS standards. They must be able to evaluate and verify color. Ensure the protection of the environment, prevention of pollution and the continual improvement of the environmental management system. Provide leadership in developing measures and practices that prevent accident and ensure compliance with Osha and EPA/TCEQ standards. This includes continuously monitoring the workplace for hazardous environmental, health, and safety conditions. Ensure environmental, health and safety hazards are corrected, eliminated, or guarded. Assess engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE on an on-going basis. Assist in the investigation of accidents. Identify hazardous situations that are associated with the accident. Have the authority to stop and prevent unsafe actions. Stop the use of unsafe equipment and tools, stop work and/or have employees leave a work area. Investigate all near misses and other environmental/safety-related incidents that have occurred within the incident area. Ensure the results of environmental/safety audits are documented. Monitor the investigation of accidents and injuries. Ensure that corrective actions are taken and provide recommendations for ways to prevent similar accidents. Ensure that all incident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner customer requirement. Understand and comply with all applicable customers. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Engineering or a related field. 2 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Plus Systems Training (APQP); (2) BOS Systems Training; (3) SQAM; (4) AIAG Training; and (5) Lean Manufacturing Training.
