Your impact The Senior Accountant serves as the company's lead accountant for all aspects of U.S. and International Payroll Accounting (including Executive & Expatriate compensation, Benefits and Pension) in accordance with department policy and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) of the United States. Provide expert payroll accounting information and guidance to management, accounting teams, Human Resources and other teams. Manage all aspect of monthly close and interact with both internal and external auditors to meet auditing requirements. What you will do
- Analyze stock compensation and prepare monthly package for management approval and recordation.
- Maintain Severance, Relocation, Retention and 401K confidential schedules for recordation.
- Prepare employer tax accrual for local and foreign entities related to bonus compensation.
- Prepare analytical schedules for the monthly, quarterly and yearly close review.
- Interact with local and foreign auditors and provide them timely information.
- Reconcile Payroll Non-Cash balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare quarterly Payroll PBC schedules for external and internal auditors.
- Record the day-to-day payroll and benefit accounting activities of assigned Intelsat companies (legal entities).
- Serve as a liaison to the Tax, Treasury, Financial Reporting and General Accounting departments during the monthly close process, coordinating payroll related activities and issues.
- Create payroll related documents used for local statutory audits.
- Conduct a detailed review of each Legal Entity's payroll and benefits related withholding balances on a monthly basis, researching any monthly variances and providing correcting entries for any discrepancies.
- Interact with all levels of staff to obtain information regarding complex transactions, ensuring that any related accounting impacts are properly recorded and disclosed.
- Develop new ways to eliminate manual processes surrounding accurate recording of payroll
- Maintain general oversight of all systems and processes used by payroll accounting team
- Assist with the monitoring of SOX controls across the department and provide input regarding updates to current SOX controls.
- Work on other special projects as assigned.
- Very strong Excel skills (preferably experience with Macros and Pivot Tables)
Your required experience/skills
- Must have a Bachelors' Degree in Accounting
- Must have at least three years of direct accounting experience and a strong knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) of the United States.
- Must have excellent time and workload planning skills, including the ability to create project plans and coordinate the work of peers toward the completion of common goals.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have strong accounting system skills with significant experience working with accounting systems; experience with Oracle and/or SAP accounting systems highly preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of the ADP Payroll GL system preferred.
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills and highly developed functional & technical accounting expertise.
- Must be able to work well under pressure, with the ability to multi-task and meet difficult deadlines even with little direct supervision.
- Highly developed analytical skills required, including the ability to examine & interpret a wide variety of data/information and make recommendations to management based on that analysis.

- CPA certification or CPA candidate
- Experience with Oracle accounting systems
- Familiarity with IFRS accounting standards
