Position Summary


This individual will support the key client's legal operations across the global relationship by providing insights, tracking budgets, and reporting on financial data, while also assisting the legal team with its financial and operational functions. This large client service team handles thousands of litigations, regulatory, compliance, criminal, and advisory matters globally. This analyst role is part of the Firm's strategy to deliver one Firm to our clients while demonstrating operational efficiency and excellence in client service delivery.

This role is part of the Firm's global Legal Project Management (LPM) team. The team was created to minimize fee-earner time on admin related tasks and provide client portfolio and matter specific guidance on managing resources, defining and utilizing matter work plans, analyzing budgets and using LPM technology and knowledge management tools to deliver a streamlined service to the lawyers and clients.

The success of this role will be measured by achieving good levels of engagement with key stakeholders; achieving increased operational efficiency via process and adding value to the organization by contributing to the development and roll out of legal operations and project management best practices, tools and techniques.

This role will require you to work directly with legal teams and the client to deliver best in class service to our key client both in respect of the delivery of legal services and in the context of relationship management.


Duties and Accountabilities1



  • Work with Associate Director - Legal Operations and the broader key client service delivery team to support the team's current processes, policies, and operations and develop innovative operational processes
  • Assist with matter management, including developing and maintaining statistical measures relevant to portfolio level reporting both internally and for the client
  • Track, manage and adjust budgets for client matters, ensuring all legal work stays within allocated budget limits
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting requests from partners, attorneys, or management by providing customized reports and analysis
  • Facilitate effective engagement with and support for developing and continually improving the infrastructure to support the client relationship
  • Provide support under the guidance of the Associate Director - Legal Operations and in collaboration with client legal team and other business teams to set in place strong operational foundation to support the global civil litigation docket
  • Build relationships and foster a collaborative approach to working with clients across departments


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (including excel and PowerPoint), and of financial systems and reports
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, or legal operations, ideally within a law firm
  • Familiarity with legal billing systems and processes, including invoicing and timekeeping
  • Knowledge of 3E or Elite Enterprise preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) and other Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction, follow up on own initiative
  • Exceptional determination, self-motivation and interpersonal skills and resolve
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact at all levels including with senior business stakeholders
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities with a positive, "can-do" attitude, collaborate cross-functionally, and meet tight deadlines


Location and Reporting



  • This role is based in our Los Angeles office.
  • This role reports to the Manager, Legal Operations.
