Who we are and what we do: TennCare is Tennessee's managed care Medicaid program that provides health insurance coverage to certain groups of low-income individuals such as pregnant women, children, caretaker relatives of young children, older adults, and adults with physical disabilities. TennCare provides coverage for approximately 1.7 million Tennesseans and operates with an annual budget of approximately $14 billion. It is run by the Division of TennCare with oversight and some funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). TennCare's mission is to improve the lives of Tennesseans by providing high-quality cost-effective care. Job Overview: A Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will assist in supporting collaboration through governance and trust between all TennCare stakeholders and TennCare Information Systems. They will help facilitate open communications within TennCare, other state agencies, and external stakeholders and partners (including solution and service vendors) by establishing and managing formal collaboration, communication, and governance processes to identify and support TennCare as it relates to business requirements and data exchange activities, including but not limited to: business case and needs assessment, interoperability, policy, legal activities (e.g., BAA, DUA, IAA, and IGA). The BRM will help to identify and prioritize Medicaid and TennCare initiatives, serve as a key business partner to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Strategic Planning and Innovation, Operations, Policy Office, Information Systems (IS) Department, LTSS, THA, TDH, MCOs), assist and develop formal communications and marketing plans for the TennCare IS and, along with the other BRM staff, serve as a single point-of-contact and lead for TennCare IS initiatives. Customer service is a core tenet for the BRM as they serve as a critical role in ensuring that TennCare IS (staff and resources) supports the success of all programs, projects and initiatives in order to best serve TennCare members. This position is a non-management position and reports to the TennCare IS Director of Business Relationship Management under the office of the Chief Information Officer. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to substantial (five or more years of) full-time relevant experience. Desirable qualifications: Experience in the following areas is a plus: Medicaid Information Systems CMS Enhanced Federal Funding State / Federal Budgeting, Contract Compliance (e.g., SLA, Financial, Vendor Management), state and federal procurement practices, policies and procedures, current healthcare solutions and services vendors, current and emerging technologies including AI and Gen AI.
