Who we are looking for


Purpose

We are currently seeking qualified and highly motivated individuals for the position of Global Senior Medical Information Manager (Appointment to Associate Director will be depending on experience). This individual will report to the Senior Director of Scientific Communications, Medical Affairs Operations and Excellence.

This position is an important member of the Medical Affairs team who will drive/manage the effective communication of medical information relating to Chiesi GRDs products and drive excellence in this important function. The qualified candidate will also support medical team in other related activities that support the engagement of our external stakeholders.

This is position is based out of Boston, MA (US). It will require approximately 30% (domestic / international) travel for congresses and internal meetings.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Medical Information function within Medical Affairs, Global Rare Disease
  • Manage reception, triage, escalation, and process of Medical Information Requests (MIRs) globally in US, Europe, and other countries for Chiesi Rare Disease products
  • Engaging the key internal stakeholders of the global teams in medical and other functions to develop, maintain, manage, and review medical FAQs, Standard and Custom Medical Information Response Letters
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of core medical information assets (FAQs, Standard and Custom Medical Information Response Letters etc.)
  • Support the development and execution of the strategic medical affairs plans for Chiesi Rare Diseases products, including congress planning, booth development and management, scientific platforms and other scientific communication materials.
  • Lead medical information booth and scientific insight gathering at congresses and within.
  • Responsible for managing the Medical Review Board (MRB) relating to medical information materials review and approval within process and system.
  • Provide Medical Affairs team with knowledge and insights from global medical information activities and scientific literature
  • Developand maintaininternal and external stakeholder relationships; Represent Chiesi at meetings and conferences, in interactions with KOLs and in collaboration with other functions.
  • Support and contribute to ad hoc Medical Affairs strategy, planning initiatives and activities. Participate in ad-hoc communication initiatives that support the medical affairs strategy
  • Assist in the implement best practices and new initiatives, including digital innovations within medical information.


Experience Required

  • Effective written and spoken communication skills in combination with the ability to critically analyze and summarize scientific data
  • Project planning and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of relevant medical information standards and regulations worldwide
  • Knowledge of medical information tools and systems
  • Experience in managing medical information vendor/call centers
  • Strong interpersonal skills in developing and maintaining successful stakeholder relationships (internal and external)
  • Proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with great attention to detail anda sense of urgency
  • Previous line management experience preferred


Education

Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) with >3 years' experience in medical information and other appropriate medical affairs experience.
