Northeast C&I forecasting is based on one overarching theme, turning the forecast into a strategic advantage for our end customers. Central to this is our underlying data flow because a model is only as good as the data it ingests.

The Data Quality Function is central to our goal of pristine data inputs. As an analyst the candidate can expect to be responsible for 4 primary areas:

  1. Customer Usage Records: Customer usage must be comprehensive, accurate, and complete. The analyst will be responsible for going above and beyond the normal billing feeds to ensure all accounts across our extensive portfolio of customers have all available usage records from the utility in our PDF system.

  1. Determinants Updates and Customer Obligation calculations: The analyst will be responsible for ensuring all determinants necessary for the forecast are up to date and accurate. In addition they will also keep a running total of Capacity(NYISO, PJM, ISO NE, and MISO) and Transmission Obligations(PJM and MISO) for all customers. They are expected to work closely with the Data Management Analyst in the validation of obligation curves for the contractual forecast.

  1. Site Classification: Analyst will work closely with the Manager in determining customer site classifications.

  1. Sourcing and Integrating New Parameter Data: Analyst will be the primary point for both sourcing and integrating new parameter records into the system.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative field.

The ideal candidate should have 2-4 years of experience working in Billing or Pricing primarily focused on Northeast C&I customers. Backgrounds in Settlements and/or Product Control/Risk will also be considered a good fit. In addition the candidate should have the following:

  1. A working knowledge of SQL querying(MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostGres etc.)

  2. Strong familiarity with ISO and Utility Tariffs and the ability to summarize and communicate significant changes.

  3. Thorough understanding of capacity and transmission obligation calculations in NYISO, PJM, ISO NE, and MISO.

  1. Familiarity with New York Power Authority allocations and how they are tracked across utilities.

  1. Familiarity with utility state PUC submissions.

  1. Some understanding of load forecasting especially as it relates to daily demand bid submission.

  1. Familiarity with EDI processes(knowledge of meter level codes and request/response issues is a strong plus).

  1. Familiarity with ERM or other billing system is a strong plus.

The candidate is expected to work in a fast-paced environment, and should have a strong ability to multi-task. They should also have a desire to be inventive in finding new solutions and be comfortable in approaching a problem in novel ways. Finally, they should view good enough as never good enough, we strive to be exceptional.
