Social Work Case Consultation Specialist

We are seeking Social Work Case Consultation Specialists to provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed assessment, referral, service connection, and advocacy to Afghan community members in partnership with social service partners, community-based organizations, local refugee resettlement agencies, and employment entities.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Social Work Case Consultation Specialist: $80,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Social Work Case Consultation Specialist Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide case consultation in support of Peer Support Specialist teams providing services to recently arrived Afghan refugees.
  • Support the creation of client-centered service plans that emphasize empowerment, dignity, self-determination, and self-sufficiency.
  • Assess clients' needs, strengths, and challenges to facilitate appropriate referrals and service connections.
  • Assist clients in navigation of systems and services.
  • Provide immediate support and intervention to clients experiencing urgent or crisis situations.
  • Ensure trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally competent practices in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Provide advocacy and engagement with and on behalf of Afghan community members to community partners, local non-profit agencies, and social adjustment entities.
  • Collaborate with Peer Support Specialists, Intake Specialists, and other members of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Social Work Case Consultation Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills.
  • Minimum of 2 or more years of experience as a social worker.
  • Masters or Bachelors degree in Social Work (SW), or at least 6 years experience in related field required.
  • 1 or more years working with refugee, and/or migrant populations.
  • Bilingual or Multilingual: (Pashto and/or Dari) communication skills are preferred.
  • Ability to travel between various local working locations.
  • History of community engagement and community organizing.
  • Ability to remain calm during difficult circumstances and emergencies.
  • Advanced knowledge of social adjustment services.
  • Proficient in utilizing Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must pass pre-employment requirements of Cherokee Federal.
