Job Summary

The Quality Inspector's main responsibility is to inspect, accept or reject work performed in a particular discipline in compliance with applicable Codes and specifications.


Essential Functions

  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
  • Provides specialized technical expertise in support of the Quality program, including specialized inspection and testing techniques.
  • Performs tracking of components including material grades, heat/lot numbers, and welder IDs to allow for completion of final turnover documents.
  • Ensures completion of inspection reports and/or inspection logs to document the status of inspected components.
  • Provides regular coordination and communication with production personnel regarding inspection activities.
  • Performs inspection of components, material, or services of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Utilizes electronic NCR and Quality Observation programs to document quality issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Plans, performs, and closes quality operations in electronic ERP system.
  • Assists in resolving quality issues with other department personnel, as needed.
  • Applies knowledge of quality systems and tools to validate and verify contractually required standards for project execution.
  • Maintains quality standard of products and materials that go into work scope. Aligns quality management function with the performance needs of product lines.
  • Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field.
  • Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years' minimum experience in a specific craft or working under a formal Quality Management System.
  • Experience with inspection techniques including MT, PT, and VT.
  • AWS CWI strongly preferred.
  • Should be familiar with ASME Sec. VIII, Sec. IX, B31.1, B31.3, API 650/653 Codes.
  • Strong understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards and their impact on project activities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
