Description
The Department of Finance and Insurance has available a full-time Assistant Lecturer / Teaching Professor position starting August 15, 2025. The new hire will teach Business Law (BL260), a course required for all MCOB students, and at least one of the following courses: Estate Planning (BL367), Insurance Law ( RMI 473) and Real Estate Law (RE230), and engage in professional and university service activities and scholarship.
1. Teaching load:
The teaching load is 12 hours/week each semester on campus. Some courses may be delivered online or in a hybrid format.
2. Professional Activity and Scholarship:
Maintain currency in business law by engaging in the required professional activities and / or scholarship, needed for a faculty qualification status.
3. Service:
Serve on committees, participate in student advising and community outreach, and generally contribute professional service to the university.
Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctorate, related law degree, or Masters Degree
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant professional experience related to the legal environment of business; prior teaching experience in business law; interest in teaching estate planning, financial literacy, insurance law or real estate.
