Position Summary

As a Technical Business Analyst, at STERIS, you will be an agent of change. Supporting global surgical asset tracking software, you will be involved throughout the entire development life cycle. Our team of Technical Business Analysts partner with Customers, Designers, Software Developers, and other stakeholders to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, and manage real needs and define solutions while adding value. Ideal candidates will have experience working as a Business Analyst in either a software development company or with complex proprietary software in a highly-regulated industry.

*This is a fully remote position, home-based within the Continental U.S and either EST or CST zones. There will be daily interaction with co-workers in multiple time zones including the U.K.

What You'll do as a Technical Business Analyst

  • Deploy robust business analysis techniques to ensure business value in the work undertaken and ensure alignment with company direction and strategy.
  • Ensure a complete and thorough understanding of business problems raised. Collaborate with stakeholders (Designers, Software Development, Quality Assurance, etc.) to assess the feasibility of technical solutions to ensure a technical solution is the optimal resolution.
  • Actively engage the user throughout the development process to capture real time user feedback, to allow for the realignment of direction within the development cycle as appropriate.
  • Responsible for producing and maintaining high quality features requests to drive the product roadmap.
  • Ensure adequate metrics and measures are available to substantiate business propositions.
  • Effective stakeholder management and regular and appropriate communications to internal and external parties.
  • Proactively manage projects on day-to-day basis, ensuring effective planning and scheduling of project resources to deliver projects within time and budget constraints.
  • Articulate and communicate how user experience needs affect the design of a system in a project or program of work and work closely with the Design Team to ensure effective collaboration and minimal overlap of tasks are achieved.

The Experience, Abilities and Skills Needed:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years' experience as a Technical Business Analyst working within a highly-regulated industry environment using SCRUM/XP.
  • 3+ years of experience delivering proprietary software as a business benefit through full software development life cycle, primarily with waterfall methodologies.
  • 3 years of experience leading requirements engineering process and the discipline to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Project Management skills with an adaptable and flexible approach to managing key stakeholders.
  • Candidates must reside in either the Eastern or Central US time zones in order to effectively support this team

The Preferred Experience, Abilities and Skills:

  • An exceptional communicator who can translate between a technical and non-technical audience with ease within a healthcare software setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and an ability to influence senior leaders and peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Experience creating documentation such as business case documentation or business requirements summaries.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills.

Pay range for this opportunity is$67,750.00-$94,762.50.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
