This is the reasonably anticipated pay or pay range for this position currently: $105,000 - $110,000


Job Summary:

Plans, coordinates, and directs food safety, regulatory and quality standards in Hood manufacturing facilities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor and develop FSQR technicians, supervisors and QMS/SQF
  • Foster a culture of quality and collaboration amongst peers and plant
  • Manage staff responsible for maintaining accurate records of all product testing and quality management system compliance
  • Formulates and maintains Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory objectives in conjunction with corporate policies and
  • In conjunction with Sales, manage all customer complaints or quality issues and determine what action or remedy
  • needs to be implemented, both internally and externally


  • Performs quality process and product reviews to ensure compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company QMS.
  • Collaborate on plant KPI's and make recommendations as
  • Lead or collaborate in RCA, CAPA, AAR's and other continuous improvement
  • Key contact for Regulatory agencies, customers and other 3rd party
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management
  • Maintains current awareness of Regulatory issues and implementation of compliance requirements
  • Maintains all SQF/QMS
  • Collaborates to develop and maintain a culture of proactive quality
  • Travel as required
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as


Education and Experience:

  • S. degree in Biology, Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years quality or management experience
  • 3+ years managing quality staff Working knowledge of plant quality systems, laboratory functions and manufacturing operations
  • Working knowledge of FDA and PMO and other government/regulatory requirements


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • Certification and/or License - Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification or attainment of PCQI within 12 months of hiring
  • Mature leadership and team building skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
