Wage Rage: $30-$38 an hour, depending on experience Location: Driving required during day to different communities

The Float Director of Environmental Services serves a critical role in supporting the Environmental Services department across multiple communities under the supervision of the contracted maintenance management company. This position is responsible for filling in as needed for on-site Directors of Environmental Services, ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed effectively and efficiently. The Float Director of Environmental Services will oversee maintenance operations, ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and support staff training and development. Position Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide support to maintenance and building staff at various locations when filling in for site-specific Directors of Environmental Services.
- Ensure the repair, maintenance, and functionality of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, floor care, and grounds maintenance.
- Assist with implementation and monitor preventive maintenance programs for buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment.
- Ensure all work orders are completed promptly and meet established standards while assigned to a specific building.
- Maintain resident safety by regulating access to chemicals and equipment at all sites.
- Attend and assist in training sessions to enhance staff competencies and customer service.
- Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and adherence to the department's budget across communities.
- Participate at the direction of the Lead Directors of Environmental Services in hiring processes and assist staff members to ensure they receive the necessary training for their roles.
- Collaborate in facility leadership meetings, Quality Assurance/Improvement initiatives, and Care Conferences as required.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in response to changing priorities and ensure efficient organization of work tasks.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations while directing staff in alignment with the person in charge.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and community stakeholders while promoting a customer service-focused environment.
- Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including the disaster preparedness plan.
- Engage in Quality program efforts across all facilities and participate in mandatory meetings and in-services.
- Float Director of Environmental Services will be given building/task assignments biweekly to coincide with the pay period.
- Undertake any other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications Experience and Education
- A Special Engineers boiler License is preferred or must be obtained within 90 days of hire (when applicable).
- Minimum of two years' experience in maintenance, particularly in mechanics, carpentry, electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, housekeeping, and laundry operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated capability in directing staff, recruitment, management of procurement processes, and compliance with regulatory and budgetary requirements.
- Ability to maintain professional, positive, and cooperative relationships with residents, their families, and employees.
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including email usage.
- Commitment to regular attendance and ability to follow health regulations.
- Strong understanding of the importance of reporting all injuries and accidents to a supervisor immediately.
- Effective communication skills with residents and other stakeholders.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
