As a Machinist,you will be trusted to work on medical devices design engineering (Life Sciences) work includes: applying mechanical and electrical engineering principles to develop medical devices that meet customer technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements. This role is onsite in our Belmont, CA location and a typical day will include:

• Producing small scale prototype components and developing specialized tools
• Precision machining (sub 0.010mm tolerance holding)
• CNC CAM programming (lathe and mill)
• Maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean and safe working environment

What You'll Bring to Alcon:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 2 Years of Relevant Experience
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Surfcam software, or similar software such as MasterCAM, DelCAM
• Familiarity with Solidworks CAD and PDM revision control.
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes
• Skilled in temperature-controlled machining techniques
• Experience in Sinker EDM machining
• Experience in plastic injection mold making
• Experience in 5 axis CAM programming
