Job Summary The Senior Chef Manager leads all kitchen and dining operations at Rashi, a day school serving lunch to 316 students and staff, five days a week. The program features a Kosher-style menu with hot meals, a salad bar, and a sandwich station. This role manages menu planning, purchasing, inventory, cost control, sanitation, team leadership, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities: Lead daily kitchen and dining operations for the Kosher-style lunch program Develop and manage menus, salad bar, and sandwich offerings Hire, train, and lead kitchen staff Maintain food/labor cost controls and quality standards Oversee purchasing, inventory, and vendor relations Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and kosher-style standards Conduct staff meetings and training Support special projects as needed Preferred Qualifications: Culinary degree or equivalent experience 5+ years in culinary management Experience in school dining or Kosher-style service preferred Strong leadership and team development skills Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards Proficient in budgeting, inventory, P&L, Microsoft Office, and POS systems Excellent communication skills ServSafe or health certification preferred Able to lift up to 40 lbs Key Traits: Self-motivated, organized multitasker Professional, ethical, and positive Committed to food quality, safety, and student experience Apply to CulinArt today!
