$23 - $28/hr POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to our customers. Tasked with safely driving and maintaining assigned trucks and loads as well as completing and turning in required paperwork and reports timely. Works closely with our management and dispatching team to effectively and efficiently plan routes, track deliveries and paperwork, maintain equipment and schedule, and comply with all regulatory and company requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Essential Functions include but are not limited to: * Daily start time 5:30AM * Pre-Trip yard truck and shuttle trailers * Report any defects to Mechanic and Ops Manager for Transportation * Deliver preloaded shuttle at 6:00 AM * Conduct a dock check for Trailer numbers and what door they are in, report to Ops Manager for Logistics the numbers and door assignments * Conduct yard check for available empties and report to Ops Managers for both Transportation and Logistics. Move empties to available doors * Shuttle loads are 1 priority at this position * Verify rolls are in safe and secure position to transport * PCA drop- loaded trailers are to be dropped at pre-determined location * Drop paperwork for load * Pick up empty and return to warehouse to be loaded * Essential function of Position, Trailer movements from Hydra Warehouse to drop yard * All trailer movements are controlled and viewed in Scheduler APP. Once notified a trailer is completed it must be pulled and transported to drop yard. * Tandems are to be slid into position for road travel * Paperwork verified that it is in trailer and doors are to be closed * Any visible structural damage or tire damage are to be reported to Ops Manager for Transportation immediately * Drop trailer in yard and make sure landing legs are sitting on cement pad * Make sure there is ample room on sides for drivers to be able to operate landing gear * If empties are available contact shipping and get door assignment * End of day make sure all load trailers are moved from doors to drop location * Scan rolls, create BOL, send email to PCS for shuttle loads * Maintains thankful, respectful, polite and courteous attitude. * Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * High School Diploma, GED or equivalent * 21 years of age required per FMCSA regulations & 3 years driving experience required * Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and Medical Card * Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse * Must be able to drive a tractor trailer for a period of time that will conform to FMCSA requirements * Must be capable of dropping/hooking and coupling trailers which involves cranking landing gear, pulling 5th wheel pin which takes approximately 65 lbs. of pressure; and maneuvering a trailer dolly * Must be able to provide an acceptable MVR-clean driving record with no accidents last 3 years * Must be familiar with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA rules and regulations * General computer and technology ability to operate applications on phone or tablet. * Ability to navigate within an operating system to create paperwork for assigned loads * Ability to meet the FMCSA's requirements to speak and read English * Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job * Must be able to drive all routes and in all types of terrain, including, but not limited to, mountains, steep inclined roads, curvy highways, desert areas, bridges, tunnels, etc. * Must be able to drive in a wide range of environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, rain, wind, snow, freezing temperatures, hot weather, etc. * Must always demonstrate safe behavior both inside and outside the vehicle and inside and outside the warehouse * Must comply with all company policies, processes, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct * Must be able to interact well with others and maintain a thankful, respectful, polite, and courteous attitude * Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting * Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities and meet or exceed company productivity standards * Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines * Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check * Must be authorized to work in the United States * Must pass a road test PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
