POSITION SUMMARY: The Corporate Sourcing Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing global sourcing strategies that deliver the lowest total cost, reduces inventory, and maximizes customer satisfaction through best in class on-time delivery, lead-time, and quality. The Corporate Sourcing Specialist will develop and maintain a qualified supply base, while understanding technology trends and market influences. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for purchasing components for the Tank/Trailer industry to include; tires, wheels, harnesses, lights, valves, fittings, etc. Leads the development and implementation of global sourcing strategies
- Leads the evaluation, qualification, and selection of a world class supply base
- Continually identifies and implements new opportunities for cost reduction initiatives and proactively tracks progress towards cost reduction goals
- Leads global, cross-functional sourcing teams and champions the strategic sourcing process across the organization
- Leads the development and execution of negotiation strategies with suppliers, including specific targets for pricing, service, quality, and inventory
- Leads the selection, development, and management of strategic suppliers to meet cost and performance goals
- Establishes best practice inventory management programs (consignment, VMI, Kanban, etc.)
- Works with EnTrans legal department to establish and execute optimal supply agreement terms and conditions with suppliers
- Develops implementation and transition plans to ensure sourcing benefits are fully realized
- Strategically rationalizes the supply base to minimize the total number of suppliers
- Uses strategic sourcing tools to minimize the impact of inflation
- Manages supplier delivery performance, supplier lead-time, inventory turns, new product development, and obsolescence
- Develops, manages, and maintains strategic business relationships with suppliers
- Conducts periodic business reviews with suppliers to monitor and manage performance
- Works with Product Management to identify and develop sources of supply for emerging technologies
- Keeps abreast of material prices, markets, and pricing trends for assigned categories
REQUIREMENTS:
- Adherence to established safety policies, procedures, and practices
- Knowledge of financial accounting, strategic sourcing, and supplier management concepts
- Experience performing in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment
- Proficient at thinking and acting strategically, championing change, and generating innovative solutions
- Ability to lead and influence change in the face of complexity and ambiguity
- Proven track record of building and leading cross-functional teams
- Capable of influencing and motivating others with new ideas and concepts
- Demonstrated leadership, customer service, problems solving, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Detail oriented with excellent quantitative and analytical skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate difficult concepts to all levels of the organization
- Strong negotiation and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on a daily basis
- Global travel across Heil locations and supply base
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Commodity management/strategic sourcing -related role in a manufacturing environment (low volume, high mix environment preferred)
- Prior sourcing experience with aluminum and stainless steel preferred
- Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in automotive industry preferred
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, and Outlook
- Project management experience preferred
Work Environment
- The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection
- For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment

- Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day
- Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday
