Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role
  • This position is part of the LT&E training group at Sterling Heights, MI, but will be located Poland. The first three months will consist of the candidate attending and completing train the trainer training in Sterling Heights, MI. After three months the candidate will work and live in Poland for at least 2 years, with the possibility of a permanent position in-country.
  • Manage the on-site personnel and oversee the planning and execution of operator and maintainer training of the M1A1SA for Polish government contractors in support of Polish Army assets. Also provide guidance to team members to analyze engineering drawings/models, schematics and specifications to identify hardware configuration requirements and diagnose vehicle system faults.
  • Advanced knowledge of training development through extensive experience on complex programs and the ability to guide and mentor the training team's work activities through the short-term and long-term completion of contractual requirements for the Polish government.
  • Interacts with key Polish government personnel to provide valuable influence on vehicle maintenance scheduling and execution based on extensive knowledge of vehicle operation and unit doctrinal deployment by the customer.
  • Leads certification of GDLS training maintainers to teach vehicle Training Support Packages. Actively coaches and mentors junior training personnel on the training development process as well as communication skills and the importance of teamwork.
  • Lead and influence strategic planning activities related to the incorporation of the latest technologies to continue to enhance the capabilities and products of the training development team.
  • Develop and sustain technically proficient staff while managing work directives, indirect budget expenditures, manpower planning and employee health and welfare.
  • Ensure compliance of all applicable Health and Safety guidelines as well as Polish government regulations.
  • Perform routine and special personnel and administrative actions associated with day-to-day operations.


Qualifications Sought
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience through Military service as an instructor and/or Maintenance Manager or experience at General Dynamics Land Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the motivation to work independently and lead others with minimal supervision.
  • Must be familiar with US Army logistics support structure, policies, and procedures.
  • Must possess a good working knowledge of National Maintenance Work Requirements (NMWRs) and Modification Work Orders (MWOs).
  • Must have experience with the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and EV Core.
  • Must be competent in the use of MS Office applications.
  • Must have detailed knowledge of IPS, CMMI, and ISO 9000 processes.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and leadership skills are essential for interacting with program personnel with varying backgrounds and missions as well as facilitating process implementation and continuous process improvement.
  • Must have a valid passport, as this position will be in Poland, but may require occasional travel.
  • Must be able to work overtime occasionally as required, including weekdays, week-ends and/or holidays as schedules may dictate.
  • Must be US citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance, if required.
  • 10-20 years minimum of related experience supporting military operations.
  • 10-20 years minimum of training development experience supporting GDLS contractual requirements.
  • Mastery of MS Office applications as well as expertise with the use of Teamcenter and CAD models for analysis and source data development.
  • Familiar with GDLS Project Management and capable of integrating training and the training development process into the contractual scope.
