DESCRIPTION OF WORK

You will apply your outstanding equipment operation skills to support the Forest Maintenance Supervisor and Forest Assistant Manager in planning, constructing, and maintaining four ATV trail systems in northcentral Bureau of Forestry, along with managing Bureau-owned areas within Regional Trail Systems and State Forest Recreation Areas. Additionally, you will contribute to other recreational trails and infrastructure as required. Regular maintenance of the Section's and District's heavy equipment and power tools is crucial, encompassing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual checks to ensure peak performance. When not operating equipment, you will engage in manual labor and may occasionally take on a leadership role, guiding other staff in their tasks as needed. Collaboration with Equipment Operators, Semi-Skilled Laborers, Forest Maintenance Supervisors, Forest Assistant Managers, and Forest District Managers from adjacent Forest Districts will also be necessary when the situation demands. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more: or
- Any equivalent combination of experience or training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) without the following restrictions: air brakes, manual transmission, and truck trailer combination.
