Description

Provide advanced electrical engineering support for the development and commercialization of new processes, process improvements, and technical systems. This individual will be responsible for the electrical design and development of manufacturing equipment and processes while supporting continuous improvement efforts as it relates to equipment reliability, equipment safety, and processes. In addition, they will lead activities with cross-functional teams and skill appropriate projects or activities as required in support of business objectives.

Essential Accountabilities



  • Assist and mentor others in troubleshooting machine and process-related problems.
  • Leader of Electrical Controls Engineer team
  • New equipment install/startup/improvements.
  • Waste/scrap reduction initiatives.
  • Production throughput/productivity improvements.
  • Machine rebuilds/replaces obsolete electrical components.
  • Mentor/provide advanced training to Controls and Maintenance Techs
  • Support and maintain the PlantMetrics data collection system.
  • Support and maintain the Chem Mix Batch system.
  • Examples of different judgements made in this role include equipment design, purchasing cost, project priority, new or improved processes, and operations safety. These impact improved safety, quality, productivity, cost savings, reduced scrap, improved uptime/reduced interruptions, and improved support staff through mentoring.
  • This position is designated as Safety-Sensitive (A safety-sensitive position is one in which the associate's inability or impaired ability to perform their job-related tasks could result in a direct threat to the associate's safety or the safety of others).


Qualifications & Requirements



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a minimum of 7 years applicable industry experience; or a minimum of 10 years demonstrable, applicable industry experience with a lesser amount of formal education.


  • Technical experience required to qualify for the position:

    • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to lead project management teams.
    • Advanced PLC/HMI/Servo/VFD programming experience using Rockwell Automation platform.
    • Knowledge and advanced experience with automation networks and communications including Ethernet, DeviceNet, ASi, ControlNet, DH+, Remote I/O, RS232 and the software used to support these.
    • Advanced experience with AutoCAD or comparable electrical design software.
    • Generate, read, and understand electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic schematics and P&ID drawings.
    • Knowledge and ability to interpret and mentor others in NEC, NFPA, and OSHA regulations.
    • Computer skills using Excel, Word, Power Point and Project.




  • Other desirable training in preparation for the position:

    • Ability to effectively communicate utilizing written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
    • Well organized with the ability to lead and support multiple tasks concurrently.
    • Develop training materials and effectively train other technical resources.
    • Capacity to enhance education and technical skills.
    • Ability to obtain a passport and travel domestically and internationally.
