Job Title: Senior Manager, Windchill PLM

The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Senior Manager to support Windchill Product Lifecyle Management. The Senior Manager, Windchill PLM is responsible for overseeing the strategic management and optimization of a company's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, specifically utilizing the PTC Windchill platform, ensuring efficient product development processes by leading implementation, customization, data management, and user support across the organization, often requiring extensive experience with Windchill functionalities and project management skills to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is remote eligible - Candidates that are commutable distance to our Raritan, NJ or Rochester, NY offices are preferred.

The Position

  • Defining the overall vision for Windchill PLM usage within the company, aligning it with business goals and identifying areas for improvement and expansion.
  • Leading the design, configuration, and deployment of Windchill solutions, including custom workflows and integrations with other enterprise systems to cater to specific business needs.
  • Ensuring data integrity and quality within the Windchill system by establishing data governance practices, managing data migration processes, and overseeing data cleansing initiatives.
  • Developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to empower users across different departments to effectively utilize Windchill functionalities.
  • Leading Windchill related projects, including upgrades, expansions, and system enhancements, managing timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, sales, etc.) to understand their requirements and ensure Windchill effectively supports their workflows.
  • Possessing in-depth knowledge of Windchill features, including product structure, change management, BOM management, document control, and workflow automation.
  • Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Windchill usage and system efficiency to identify areas for optimization.
  • Manages a small to mid-sized team consisting of experienced/senior PLM professionals.
  • Leads, directs, and reviews the work of the team who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.
  • Responsible for making improvements of processes to enhance team performance. Drawing on prior experience, manages problems and issues faced by the team, gathering information to understand the problem.
  • Coordinate systems documentation and testing as required by the Quidel Ortho System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process, including architecture and application technical specifications, systems and data related verification plans / procedures / records / reports, administrative procedures, and others.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with course work in engineering, science, or technology, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated competence with PLM systems leadership
  • Experience with agile operating frameworks (examples: Microsoft Azure DevOps, JIRA)
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience with product development, release, and change processes and relevant to an PLM systems environment
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office tools - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communications skills in both written and verbal form
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to motivate others, and a customer-focused service attitude
  • Proven experience managing large-scale Windchill PLM implementations and upgrades
  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycle and associated business processes
  • Expertise in Windchill configuration, customization, and integration capabilities
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to train and support users at all levels on Windchill functionality
  • Expertise in applying PLM to a Medical Device company desired - experience in a regulated industry would also be acceptable. (examples: aerospace, automotive, medical/pharma)
  • Comfortable working with managers, developers, technologies, and business partners; the ability to work with others at all levels of the company, both technical and non-technical
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship.

The Work Environment

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $195,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
