SUMMARY: The Tax & Equity Associate's position will support the existing tax and equity process in the Corporate Finance Department. The duties include compiling financial information, preparing or processing journal entries, reconciling accounts and providing financial data to business partners and management are required functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.



  • Supports with maintaining reports and conducting monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations.
  • Initiates and processes journal entries as appropriate for the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Assists with gathering, preparing, organizing, and uploading documentation for SOX and internal auditors.
  • Prepares and files monthly Sales & Use tax forms and other information reporting forms.
  • Prepares and files Annual State Reports.
  • Assists with Equity Plan Administration.
  • Assists with preparation and maintaining documentation for Form 4 and other equity award filings.
  • Prepares annual and ad-hoc requests for NEOs and BOD pertaining to information needed for individual tax filings.
  • Assist with the Company's dividend payment process including funding to transfer agent, calculating and maintaining recordkeeping of dividend payments for unvested shares paid to employees and non-employee directors and supporting the Payroll team with processing of dividend payments.
  • Assist with preparation of Annual Social Impact report, including gathering and verifying financial information reported and other tasks required for timely and successful execution of report.
  • Initiates required updates to Social Responsibility section of Investor Relations website.
  • Assist in preparing certain book-to-tax workpapers and payroll tax reconciliations, primarily related to related to equity compensation and dividends.
  • Maintains records necessary to properly report and account for LIHTC investments, EQ2 investments, SBIC investments, and other Community Development equity investments.
  • Supports leasing subsidiaries with monthly reconciliation of tax operating leases, including reviewing system inputs and roll-forward.
  • Assist with federal and state correspondence and notices.
  • Gathers and maintains records for insurance renewals.
  • As needed assist with responses to Information Document Requests received from the Internal Revenue Service and State Taxing Authorities.
  • As needed, assists with research, diligence, and accounting for new community development finance equity investments.
  • Assists with special projects and confidential matters.
  • Maintain high regard for privacy and confidentiality.
  • Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
  • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activity.


EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.

EXPERIENCE



  • 2 to 5 years' experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of general and bank accounting concepts.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Excel and PowerPoint are a must.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
