Technical Product Designer 4

Spirit AeroSystems designs and builds aerostructures for both commercial and defense customers. With headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, Spirit operates sites in the U.S., U.K., France and Malaysia. • Develop engineering product designs to meet mechanical, structural, architectural, and electrical requirements.

• Define, maintain, and release product data in electronic formats (3D models, layouts, engineering drawings, and parts lists).

• Ensure designs and engineering data are accurate, integrated, and comply with standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in root cause analysis of issues related to customer, supplier, manufacturing, design, and documentation.

• Act as a subject matter expert to drive process improvements and technical solutions.

• Investigate factors such as manufacturability, interchangeability, cost-efficiency, strength-to-weight ratio, and contractual specifications to optimize designs.

• Collaborate with engineers, group leaders, internal and external suppliers, and customers to address design and manufacturing issues.

• Ensure design data is under configuration control and clearly communicated throughout the development process.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree with 9+ years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
• Working knowledge of aerospace industry standard and practices
• Advanced thinking and problem-solving ability
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Experience with CATIA (version 5 or 6)
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
• Candidate must be a resident of or willing to relocate to the Wichita, KS area

• Aerospace industry knowledge
