Overview

Responsibilities
Develop engineering product designs to meet mechanical, structural, architectural, and electrical requirements. Define, maintain, and release product data in electronic formats (3D models, layouts, engineering drawings, and parts lists). Ensure designs and engineering data are accurate, integrated, and comply with standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Participate in root cause analysis of issues related to customer, supplier, manufacturing, design, and documentation. Act as a subject matter expert to drive process improvements and technical solutions. Investigate factors such as manufacturability, interchangeability, cost-efficiency, strength-to-weight ratio, and contractual specifications to optimize designs. Collaborate with engineers, group leaders, internal and external suppliers, and customers to address design and manufacturing issues. Ensure design data is under configuration control and clearly communicated throughout the development process.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree with 9+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
- Working knowledge of aerospace industry standard and practices
- Advanced thinking and problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Experience with CATIA (version 5 or 6)
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
- Candidate must be a resident of or willing to relocate to the Wichita, KS area
