Maintenance Supervisor

OVERVIEW:

Enviroflight's mission is to develop technology that produces sustainable and safe animal feed ingredients using the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) (Hermetia illucens). Our technology enables the mass rearing of insect larvae, feedstock conditioning and mixing, insect life support systems, nutrient recovery, animal feed production, and cold press oil extraction and refining.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the supervision of the maintenance staff, and all corrective or preventative maintenance procedures within the plant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluates and corrects all mechanical and/or building problems that may arise in the plant.
• Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and controls scheduling.
• Supervises and assigns the work of maintenance employees and inspects work for completeness.
• Implements and evaluates preventative maintenance program.
• Responsible for cleanliness of equipment and safety inspections.
• Ensures equipment and plant availability through effective and efficient scheduling of maintenance and repair.
• Coordinates teams for the purpose of improving performance and procedures development.
• Works closely with operations to coordinate all maintenance actions.
• Improves safety and labor efficiencies, "hands on the wrench time", by providing the proper tools, & training.
• Manages department budget.
• Utilizes various analytical techniques to monitor, measures and prioritizes improvements to process equipment in order to meet or exceed production goals and quality expectations.
• Sets up systems to implement preventive and predictive maintenance processes.
• Implements a computerized maintenance management system.
• Utilizes a computerized maintenance management systems to track cost and schedule maintenance processes.
• Keeps all maintenance up-to-date and reporting/recordkeeping as required, up to date.
• All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience as a manager in an industrial setting or in combination with training/vocational school.
• Demonstrated knowledge/experience of industrial electrical and mechanical procedures.
• Experience with computer maintenance programs and with MS Word and MS Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Supervisor experience in an agricultural business.
• Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in a related field.
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate long and short-range maintenance plans to maintenance personnel and equipment operators.
• Knowledge of/experience with safety procedures.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to provide leadership and training to maintenance personnel.
• Team player; works well with others; ability to supervise small groups.
• Detail oriented; well organized; ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
