Development Coordinator, Individual Giving and Donor Relations

RAND is seeking a Development Coordinator to support fundraising and donor relations. The Development Coordinator will provide administrative and logistical support for individual giving, annual giving and stewardship/donor relations. This position will work closely with development officers to coordinate high level meetings/events, compose briefings/reports, facilitate mailings, and maintain accurate donor records. This position will report to the Executive Director of Development, Individual Giving and Donor Relations, and Executive Director of Development, Individual and Annual Giving, and interacts with RAND leadership, donors, researchers, and staff, and requires a superb customer service approach, proactive workstyle and growth mindset. The successful candidate will be goal-oriented with a high level of initiative and intellectual curiosity and interest in the field of development. They must have strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills, an ability to manage competing priorities, and be comfortable interacting with donors.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with an expectation of working onsite in Santa Monica 2 - 3 days per week and as needed.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary administrative support to Executive Director of Development, Individual Giving and Donor Relations, and Executive Director of Development, Individual and Annual Giving; schedule and maintain their calendar of appointments, meetings, booking and managing travel itineraries, and processing expense reports.

  • Arranging meetings with staff, donors, prospects, and others as requested by the Executive Directors.

  • Assist with a wide variety of duties such as drafting, editing, and proof-reading correspondence, proposals, presentations, and briefings to be used in the cultivation, solicitation or stewardship of donors.

  • Gather, research, synthesize and analyze data and information to prepare concise, logical summaries and reports across a variety of topics that can be presented to donors, prospects, or internal teams.

  • Conduct basic research on donors and prospects, compile bios and internal prep materials for meetings and events.

  • Coordinate tasks for RAND fundraising initiatives; including annual giving, stewardship and donor relations support.

  • Assist with year-round solicitation campaigns and mailings and stewardship impact reporting activities.

  • Review and analyze donor/prospect lists, execute mailings, and provide logistical support for events.

  • Assist with general department operations; execute in-house mailings, manage conference room bookings and catering, maintain office supply inventory.

  • Provide donor customer service; respond to general phone call and email inquiries.

  • Ongoing donor database upkeep, including ad hoc data hygiene projects.

  • Assess current processes, create and recommend process improvements.

  • Support overall fundraising administrative efforts by understanding needs and managing details that will help ensure success.

  • Other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with cross-site technologies such as Teams and Zoom is a plus.

  • Strong time/task/project management and organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication.

  • Customer service experience is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively.

  • A high level of attention to detail.

  • Willingness to handle unexpected and last-minute needs.

  • Must be available to work events in the evenings and/or weekends occasionally.

  • CRM or database experience preferred, Salesforce experience is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of A.I. capabilities is a plus.

  • Development/Fundraisingexperience isa plus.

Experience

Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience

(A bachelor's degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience)

Education

AA/AS required; BA/BS preferred

Salary Range:$57,400-$85,500

RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate's work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity.This position is overtime eligible. Successful candidates will be offered employment in a specific title, as determined by the candidate's education and experience. Location

Santa Monica, CA. Hybrid position, with an expectation of working onsite a minimum 2 - 3 days per week.
