ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Public Sector Southwest team. This position will be virtual, but the candidate should reside in Colorado or Texas. Frequent travel up to 50% is required, including overnight stays.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for coordinating all aspects of project execution, ensuring a smooth transition from the design phase to the installation and on-going service and support phase of the completed project. The Senior Project Manager manages all aspects of project finances including change management, revenue projections, customer billings, and quarterly updates. The Senior Project Manager acts as primary point of contact for all internal personnel, external contractors, subcontractors and customer agents to coordinate all aspects of project installation. Ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget and that customers are satisfied with both the installation process and the end result is a primary objective of the Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager will also be responsible for management of Site Superintendents and other field assigned employees. The ideal candidate for this position must have strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. This individual must thrive in an innovative, dedicated, and collaborative company culture.

The essential functions of the position include:



  • Study job drawings and specifications to determine appropriate construction methods and schedules
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress and/or cost tracking/projections reports to Management for review
  • Ensure projects are properly set up in accounting software through estimate and cost code breakouts
  • Manage material, labor, sub-contractor and project budget throughout project
  • Prepare contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems
  • Coordinate project work with PAs/Site Superintendents: documentation, scheduling, changes, subcontractors, etc
  • Work with Site Superintendents, Foreman, and Purchasing on material and equipment procurements
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines and maximize productivity
  • Manage project budgets, Cost-to-Completes, and Billings on a monthly basis
  • Accurately forecast project costs and revenue
  • Work with Project Development Team to develop scopes of work, facilitate site visits, participate in pre-bid meetings, and evaluate proposals from Sub-contractors and vendors
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed
  • Compile progress billings for the project and assist with payment, as needed.
  • Develop construction schedules
  • Attend and/or lead project meetings and work with the Owner/Customer to clearly communicate expectations
  • Be a resource to the Project Development Team in developing projects
  • Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and environmental or other regulations
  • Manage activities during warranty timeframe


Your background includes:



  • Construction Project Management Certificate (PMP) or BA/BS degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience of 7+ years
  • Experience with Energy Efficiency based projects preferred
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred understanding of Procore project management software
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
