JOB PURPOSE:

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating engaging activities to promote well-being and community among residents, while also ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.


Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Develop and implement a diverse range of activities, considering the needs and interests of the residents, including group activities, workshops, recreational outings, and educational programs.

* Develops a monthly curriculum activity calendar.

* Actively engage with residents to understand their interests, needs, and preferences, and tailor activities accordingly.

* Supervise and facilitate activities, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all residents.

* Manage and maintain activity supplies and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and readily available.

* Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive environment that promotes positive engagement.

* Maintain accurate records of activities, resident participation, and any relevant incidents or concerns.

* Work collaboratively with shelter staff, volunteers, and external partners to enhance the overall quality of the shelter program.

* Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents and staff, adhering to all relevant safety protocols.

* Perform other duties as directed and assigned.

* Demonstrate Exceptional customer service, in Everything you do, by placing the child, family, Veteran or client first to support our mission to "Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities."

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required with a minimum of 2 years' experience working with vulnerable population.

EXPERIENCE: Two years' work or volunteer experience working with unhoused populations desired, support groups, peer mentoring, life skills. Ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals, including those experiencing homelessness.

ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.

LICENSES: Driver's License with a clear record.

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others
