Postdoctoral Associate Department: Plant Biology Posting Summary: A post-doctoral position in the Department of Plant Biology at Rutgers University, New Jersey,
USA - working in Vaccinium pathology/breeding - is available immediately as a grant funded project led by Dr. Peter V. Oudemans. Overview: Post-doctoral associate will be responsible for analyzing diverse datasets related to blueberry and cranberry pathology, production, and soil health metrics, and translating these insights to recommendations for crop improvement, improved agroecological practices, and future research questions. Candidate should have a doctoral degree in an agricultural field, and be comfortable working with large multimodal datasets. Applied experience in crop improvement or production, particularly for Vaccinium species preferable. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
The successful applicant should have a recent PhD degree in a Plant Pathology/breeding or related discipline, such as plant biology, mycology, horticulture, microbiology, and skills and experience in phenotypic and genetic analysis. A copy of PhD certification will be required before the official offer can be given. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Applicant should be fluent in English (both oral and written) and should be able to communicate ideas and results to colleagues. The successful applicant must be capable of working in a team and complete projects without constant supervision. Understanding the complexity of ecological data sets and the analysis thereof is essential to the project. Also, the integration of remote sensing data for analysis with ground-truth data will be useful. The applicant must be able to comply with high standards of work ethics, regulations and rules required by the school and department. |
