As an Office Technician- Public Headquarters, you will perform administrative and clerical work to facilitate and expedite office operations in one of the Airports Authority's Police Stations or at Police Headquarters.

Office Technician- Police Headquarters

Serves at the Police Headquarters at Dulles International Airport (IAD).

Provides administrative and clerical support to Police Majors, ensuring efficient police operations. Responsibilities include managing schedules, assisting with Workday, generating reports and documents, maintaining records, and supporting events and incidents. Requires strong organization, attention to detail, software proficiency, and effective communication to support departmental operations and strategy. Performs related functions and other duties as assigned.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborates with the Police Majors to facilitate operations and administrative functions at Police Headquarters for the Administrative Services Command and Special Operations Command.

Manages daily office tasks, including scheduling, correspondence, and meeting preparations.

Processes P-Card purchases by researching and comparing prices, reconciling orders, maintaining receipts, and inputting orders into Workday.

Assists personnel with Workday functions, including payroll input, leave requests, and other HR-related tasks.

Conducts Workday audits to assist commanders and supervisors to provide updated budget reports.

Prepares reports, presentations, memorandums, operational plans, and monthly summaries to support decision-making and strategic planning. Ensuring accuracy and professional formatting.

Maintains organized physical and digital files to ensure efficient document management.

Provides logistical support and documentation during large-scale operations and emergency incidents, including communications and resource coordination. May handle communications and resource management during such events.

Develops engaging presentations for meetings, training sessions, and public briefings.

Drafts professional memos and manages meeting logistics, including scheduling and agenda preparation.

Assists in developing detailed operational plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and procedural steps.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

One year of progressively responsible experience in administrative support, office management, or related functions.

Knowledge of office administration, operational support, and document management.

Ability to draft clear and professional correspondence, memorandums, and operational documents to support decision-making.

Strong organizational skills to maintain physical and digital records, ensuring efficient file management and retrieval.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to prepare reports, create presentations, and convey information effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software utilized in daily operations and special projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience using Workday software.

EDUCATION

A high school diploma or a Certificate of General Education Development (GED).

Work is typically reviewed in progress and upon completion for quantity, quality, timeliness, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.

A background security investigation will be required for all new hires.
